June Is National Fresh Fruit And Vegetable Month

A Center for Disease and Control report stated that only 33 and 27 percent of adults meet the recommended fruit and vegetable consumption of two fruit servings and three vegetable servings per day. Students consumed even less fruits and vegetables per day. Most people understand the health benefits of a diet rich in vegetables and fruits, which include lower blood pressure and lower risks of heart disease and cancer, however, our collective fruit and vegetable deficiency continues.

Want an easy way to increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables? Use a juicer to make fresh, homemade fruit and vegetable juice. In general a 6 ounce glass of fresh juice is the equivalent of one fruit or vegetable serving. Juice away!
