March Is National Celery Month
March is National Celery month. Celery is a great vegetable to add to juice recipes and is best juiced with a masticating juicer
. Celery is a great source of fiber, including soluble fiber. Soluble fiber lowers total cholesterol, in particular LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol), and thus reduces the risk of heart disease. Soluble fiber also helps regulate blood sugar.

February Is National Fiber Month - Use A Juicer To Increase Your Fiber
February is focus on fiber month. Fiber is a part of plant foods (like fruits and vegetables) that support and enhance good health. Fiber is non-digestible. This means that fiber is not completely broken down by the enzymes in the digestive system and thus passes all through the intestines.
Studies exploring the role of fiber in weight management found that eating an additional 14 grams of fiber each day resulted in a 10 percent decrease in calorie intake and weight loss of about four pounds within three months.*
Juicing fruits and vegetables is a great, easy way to increase fiber in your diet. Home made juice will include soluble fiber which helps you feel full. Soluble fiber also helps lower LDL cholesterol (also known as bad cholesterol) levels and regulates blood sugar levels.

Two Basic Juicer Types
Centrifugal and Masticating Juicers
Centrifugal means moving or directed outward from the center. Centrifugal juicers
use a rotating blade to cut fruit and vegetables. As it is cut, juice is released and flies towards the sides of the juicer while pulp is retained in the center.
Masticating juicers
operate at slower and lower speeds, compared to centrifugal juicers, and grind, chew and squeeze juice out of food. Manufacturers of masticating juicers claim they break down a food's fiber more thoroughly than centrifugal juicers and thus release more
nutrients.
